Here's what otterbox.com says, "Not compatible with WHITE iPhone 4. Due to a slight change of the proximity sensor for the white Apple iPhone 4, the OtterBox Defender Series, Commuter Series, Reflex Series and Impact Series cases will not work with this new device." My screen does not go into locked mode (black screen) when I am on a phone call. The case fits perfectly but I had an issue with the proximity sensor. Mine had a plastic covering with a vertical black strip over the proximity sensor. When I took the case off, the proximity sensor worked. This is what I did to fix the problem: I took the plastic covering off from the inside of the case. Cut the part off that covered the proximity sensor. Got a sharpie and outlined the inside of the case where the proximity sensor is. Placed the plastic covering back on (to protect the front camera). Placed the hard and silicone case back on the phone. Made a call and put my finger over the proximity sensor, it worked, then I put the phone up to my ear and it worked! I HIGHLY recommend this case to ALL iPhone 4 users. It's worth it! |
